Gestalt Woodside Pinot Noir 2018

Adelaide Hills SA

Lifted nose of satsuma, cranberry and cherry liqueur, leading to dried herbs and flowers with hints of mushroom and forest floor. The palate opens with sour cherries and fresh raspberries, followed by baked quince and feijoa with bramble-patch and potpourri in the background. It’s a super slurpy light-bodied wine with zingy acid lines and beautiful fine tannins.

Deepish red colour with a good purple tint. Attractive pot-pourri, red fruit and Asian spice aromas; the wine is soft and spicy with some raspberry varietal touches and light, fine tannins scattered over the end-palate and finish. A charming middle-palate fruit sweetness will win it lots of friends.

Good depth of flavour, richness and the finish has harmony and persistence. Bursting with delicate aromas of wild strawberries and delicate spicy notes reminiscent of rose petal. Palate has soft berry-fruit flavours. A crisp, dry finish with exceptional length. A little youthful banana ester, but under that a pale classic savoury style with pear, redcurrant, and a musk perfume. It’s subtle and dry, with a fine chalky texture. Raspberry and almond meal on a satisfying finish.

Bright ruby red colour. Intense nose of cherry, raspberry, redcurrant and cinnamon, with notes of vanilla, licorice and dark chocolate. Lovely, full texture, with a soft tannic structure. Plenty of delicious ripe red and black fruit notes, especially black cherry and blackcurrant, along with hints of damson, black tea, vanilla, spice and mocha.

Ribera del Duero ESP

Inky black core and a deep dark purple black hue. Intensely scented ripe black cherry and liquorice aromatics, a back drop of earthy vanillin cedar, dried meats and subtle spicy dried herb end notes. Palate has freshness and buoyancy whilst still retaining its richness. Beautifully ripened black cherry and liquorice fruit decorates the mouth underscored by well disguised vanillin cedar, a subtle earthy meatiness and spicy incense infusions. Dryish finish with ripe tannins and a chewy mouthfeel. Long ripe black cherry, liquorice, vanillin cedar, earthy incense and spicy dried meats aftertaste.

Tuscany ITA

Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Aromas of ripe red currants and dark cherries with dried herbs, subtle tobacco, old cedar, faint leather and spice. Medium bodied and quite savoury the palate features ripe red currant and dark cherry flavours over earth, light tobacco, dried herbs and spice. Slightly dryish but well integrated tannins with a lick of bright acidity on the medium length finish.

Bunches of Grenache and Syrah grown on chalk and clay soils are strictly sorted to produce this cuvée. Hand harvests and traditional winemaking processes give a wine with red and black fruits aromas (blackberry and plum). A sweet touch of liquorice plus spice add layers to the sumptuous palate. A mouth filling wine in a pure Rhône style.

A typical blend of 50 % Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Deep colour and an attractive nose with aromas of red fruits and violets mingled with roasted and woody notes.
The palate revealing gorgeous ripe tannins, with toasty and mocha nuances. The finish is ample and well rounded, with a flavour of liquorice.
